In collaboration with the Uniswap Foundation, we are proud to announce the Crafting the Cryptoeconomy (CtCe) Initiative. This initiative aims to generate and promote practical yet rigorous research in cryptoeconomics. The initiative entails two core components:
-
Research Funding (upto $50,000 annually per project)
The CBER Forum and Uniswap Foundation are proud to announce a call for proposals for research grants. Successful applicants will receive up to $50,000 in funding, renewable after one year based on performance. The CtCe grant selection committee will be looking for academically rigorous work on topics of current practical relevance. Topics of interest include economic analysis related to the following areas: Maximal Extractable Value, Restaking, Layer 2s, Order Flow Auction Design, Hook Design and DeFi Regulation.
→ How to apply for Research Funding: The portal for submissions of grant applications will be posted at www.cber-forum.org on October 27th 2024, directly after the CtCe Conference. Research grant applications are not intended to be onerous; rather, applicants need to submit only a single document with a well-posed and current research question along with a baseline well-defined research methodology. All applicants for the CtCe research grant proposals are highly encouraged to attend the CtCe conference. In particular, the content of the CtCe conference is highly relevant for a successful grant application.

Conference to Educate Researchers on Latest Developments
The cryptoeconomy is a fast-moving space and the CBER Forum is therefore inaugurating a new conference series, the CBER CtCe conference, to help researchers maintain awareness of the latest real-world developments. The conference will take place on October 25 - 26 in New York City.

Speakers include Brad Bachu (Uniswap Labs), Ed Felten (Offchain Labs), Julian Ma (Ethereum Foundation), Ciamac Moallemi (Columbia University), Joel Hasbrouck (NYU Stern), Andreas Park (University of Toronto) and Fahad Saleh (University of Florida).
→ Day 2: Research Day: Highlighting contemporary research. Speakers include Bruno Biais (HEC Paris), Benedikt Bünz (NYU), Brett Falk (University of Pennsylvania), Campbell Harvey (Duke University), Michael Lee (Federal Reserve Bank of New York), Mallesh Pai (Rice University), Tim Roughgarden (Columbia University) and Fabian Schär (University of Basel).
